Prospective Editors

So you want to be the next competitor at one of our events eh? Not sure what you need to do? Well here's what you need to know. We hope you are ready for a challenge!

First, you need to know which convention you want to participate in. We host our events at many conventions so it's good to know which conventions you would want to edit at. It is always good to inquire a few months before the competition or as soon as word is out that we are coming to a convention. Doing so will get you into our pool of editors before the deadline and/or when we decide on the editors for that event.

Every event will not always have two new prospective editors. Every so often our defending champion will have to return to defend his/her title. When this is the case, it is possible that no new editors will be in the competition because another editor who has proven his/her self will be taking their shot at the title. There are also grudge matches that may take place as well when an editor who was beaten by another editor decides to challenge that same editor again.

You will also need to figure out which kind of Iron AMV event you want to edit for. Currently we have 2 versions that are running at conventions and a third is in the works. These are the Normal Iron AMV (PG-13 event), Hentai Iron AMV (18+ event) and Drunken Iron AMV (21+ event). The normal Iron AMV event is the same one described in the our events section. The Hentai Iron AMV event is much like normal Iron AMV, except the footage available will be hentai and you will be making a hentai AMV, and as such would need to show proof that you are 18+. The Drunken Iron AMV event (currently not at any con) is much like a normal Iron AMV event, except the footage provided is both hentai and normal footage, and you will be forced to drink a regiment of liquor during the competition. Because of the nature of that event, you will need to provide proof that you are 21+ as well as know and inform us of your liquor tolerance. This way we can make the event as safe as possible.

It is understood that by agreeing to edit in any of our events that you will need to adhere to a schedule that we set forth. If you do not adhere to the schedule then it will break up the smoothness of the event and could cause us to have to cut your editing time short, and we don't want to have to do that. You will also have to give up on going to any events, panels, or other things going on during the time our event is scheduled for. This includes the cosplay masquerade, as it happens that we are scheduled at the same time as that event quite often.

Once you are sure you want to actually compete then you will need to fill out the following form found here and submit it electronically via the provided button. All the information on the form is required for tracking purposes and will remain confidential. All promotional press releases and such things will not include any of your confidential information, just the name you provide us as the one you wish to use for the event (in the event you do not wish to be known by your real name). This information will also be used to secure comp badges if they are available.

By filling out the form you will be added to our pool of editors and depending on your editing skills will be called upon to edit at the conventions you request to edit at if you are selected. Keep in mind that we may call upon you to edit at other conventions then the ones you select, however, if we do, we would provide you with a comp badge and editing equipment to help compensate you for the trouble of making the trip to the convention.

By putting yourself in our editor pool you are not putting yourself in any obligation to edit at any event you are called upon, and at the same time we are not obligated to choose you for any event we hold at a convention. If you are selected you have the chance to decline, however we ask that you do so within a reasonable amount of time so that we may notify the next choice with enough leeway that they can prepare properly for the event.

If you have any questions feel free to visit our forums and post your questions there.
