Youmacon 2007

26 November, 2007 by ngsilver
Another fun and exciting con has passed. Marking the beginning of our 3rd year we pulled out as many stops as we could to bring you all the best event possible. The battle was harsh and intense and in the end a new champion was born.
Our journey began Friday night with Hentai Iron AMV. In her first title defense, The Delectable Dani faced off against AMV Wars newcomer, noobie. Their theme was "Things you can't unsee" and each editor came up with their own rendition. In the end the vote had to come all the way to the chairman making a final decision. By the grit of her teeth Dani retained her title.

We then passed into Saturday and started things off with our pre-game panel. Thanks to everyone who came out to hear what we had to say about our event and take a peek at the road leading up to Youmacon's event.

We finally came to a climax Saturday afternoon with the main event. Mat-chan finally had to defend his title against The Delectable Dani, whom had been chasing Mat-chan's heels since Ohayocon. Their Secret Ingredient was Scrapped Princess and their theme was "80's Montage." While sticking to the theme perfectly, Dani's concept was perhaps a little too safe, yet her opponent decided to take his own twist on the 80's and inevitably lost. Perhaps the champ just couldn't get over his gripping loss to the Chairman at Daigacon, or perhaps it was just his time. Either way, he graciously passed his title on. Will Mat-chan make a comeback? You'll have to wait and see.

Thanks to everyone who came to our events. See you all next year!
