A Little Editing Help

So you have no clue how to work with premier eh? Well I think I can help. But before I go on I must warn you that I will be expecting you to have SOME experience with some other video editing software. You CAN learn premier without any previous video editing experience (I did) but it will be much easier to do so if you already know how to do certain things.

First, you need to obtain a copy of premier. How you go about doing so I do not care, but if you need assistance you can contact me at ngsilver@ngsilver.com. And install it. Upon first use you will be asked the track style that you want. I find it easier to edit with a separate transition track (a.k.a. 2 video 1 tracks), and that is how I will assume you will do things.

Alright, now that you have that done with I also suggest you READFAG (Read ErMaC and AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly Amv Guides) and you might also want to check out the other guides on AMV.org such as Vicbond007's guide to working with DVD footage. Both of those guides will help you understand working with DVD footage more then I can.

The first thing you will see when you open up premier is the project loading screen. Which looks like this:

this lovely little tool is where you can choose to create a new project or open up one you are already working on. To open up a new project simply click open and go through the dialog to find your project file. If you are creating a new video then I suggest you do not use one of the default projects. Instead, create a new one like I have done (it's called DVD). READFAG will have more information on what settings should be chosen for this. Also note, you can go back later and change the initial settings for your video, such as aspect ratio and such. Which is good if you are making a wide screen video.
